Just say NO!

So this post isn't going to have any funny stories or pictures but I was thinking about this earlier today.... why do I have such a hard time saying no? Do we as moms have trouble with this? OR maybe just me????? I tend to never say NO... yes I will be room mom, and yes I will get a gift basket together, and yes I will have a Mary Kay party, and yes I will meet you for lunch, and yes I will go to girl's night, and yes I will make you dinosaur chicken nuggetts.... and list goes on and on and on.... don't get me wrong I LOVE doing things for people and being involved with my kids but sometimes enough is enough. I feel like the 1st person I spend less time with is God... I fill my days with so many "things." Just wondering your thoughts?????

Definately! I recently decided I couldn't watch my friend's kids one day a week anymore. It was just pulling away too much from my family and my sanity. Especially since the toddlers were constantly hurting each other. It was hard for me to tell her that I couldn't do it because I wanted to help her but after I did I felt so much better about it. I think part of it is also that I don't want to admit that I can't do something. I am a well known super-mom to my friends and family and when I say "no" I feel like I am demoting myself to regular "mom."

With my kids I try to set some boundaries and limits. I will tell them "no" if I feel that it is going to create unneccesary stress. For instance, if they want to bake right before people are coming over. I would rather not have a disaster in my kitchen just before company.

Anyways, I am rambling but I know what you mean. :-)
